Traditional 12v heated gloves are great but only work when plugged in to a 12v power system. Once you unplug to get off your bike, you lose the ability to keep your gloves heated. Voltâs new Fusion heated gloves can be used on or off the bike.
Everybody loves the unlimited power of traditional 12v heated gloves. Everybody also loves the portability of 7v heated gloves using small, lightweight rechargeable batteries. Volt's new patent pending Fusion Heating System brings everything you love about these two different heating systems together.Â
And when on the bike, the glove batteries can be charged while you are powering the Fusion gloves through the 12v electrical system of your bike. When you stop to get off your bike, simply disconnect from the bikeâs power and the rechargeable batteries seamlessly take over to power the gloves. When you get back on the bike, you can continue use the 7v batteries for power or connect to the 12v electrical system and the batteries in the gloves will automatically start charging and your bike's power will take over heating the gloves.Â
The 7v battery and mating 7v plug is stored in a waterproof zippered pocket on the underside of the gauntlet cuff. The 12v coax plug is stored in a zippered pocket located on the upper inside lining of the gauntlet cuff.Â
Made with nylon and premium leather that is drum dyed with extra double layer reinforcement on the palm. The design includes knuckle armor, protective gauntlet and padding on the lower palm. The gloves include a waterproof breathable membrane, over 150 grams of insulation and a soft tricot fleece lining. The thumb and forefinger includes touchscreen fabric so there is no need to take them off to operate your electronics. Adjustable wrist strap and neoprene lined cuff with cinch pull to help seal out cold and moisture.Â
Includes built-in push button controller located on the lower gauntlet cuff with 3 power level settings:
RED = High 2 hours
BLUE = Medium 3.5 hours
GREEN = Low 5 hours
Zero LayerŽ heat system eliminates bulk while providing more efficient heat transfer.
I researched and tried alot of gloves before choosing the volt fusion gloves. Ultimately I chose them because they have the most features built into one glove and at least one feature no other glove offers! The ability to charge the batteries while plugged into the bikes 12v source and still heating the gloves is unmatched! They also heat both sides of the hands where most don't. As well as a built in controller, where the only other gloves I've found with heat on both sides of the hand require a separate controller. Then those systems also only allow 2 separate heat settings for all 4 major garments. Jacket, gloves, pants and socks. They also offer good armor and protection and are very flexible! They are also very good looking and seem to be a very quality build. My only concern is they are very tight in the gauntlet/forearm area with the batteries in. At least for me, I'm a stockier build at about 5'7" and 190lbs. I let my dad and brother try them and this was not an issue for either of them and they both loved them! I told volt of my one issue with them and expressed interest in trying the avalanche x gloves in hopes that that having a bigger battery pocket on top instead of a smaller pocket on bottom. They responded by offering me an incredible deal on the avalanche x gloves and they worked out exactly as I'd hoped. With much better fit for my body style and the same great heat features! Obviously minus the dual heat source. Amazing customer service and products!
The wife and I own another brand of battery powered gloves. While they make a small difference over not having heat in the gloves they just donât cut it!! My wife has all of 6 miles on the other brand gloves and her fingers were numb at 37 degrees. Now for the important piece of this review. I rode with the fusion gloves using only the battery power to compare them to the other gloves. I rode with the fusion gloves using the battery power in 30-34 degree mornings. I was totally happy in the gloves at medium setting running 70-75 MPH. I did this test for a week and I didnât use a jacket liner before I went ahead and plugged them into the bike. I wanted apples to apples comparison. This last weekend the wife and I went for a ride. Temp outside was 38 degrees. We both started out with the jacket liners at 3 and gloves on medium. Less than 10 miles in I pulled over to turn my gear down to level 1 on the liner and set the gloves to low. My wife kept her gear settings and we took off. I am very relieved and happy to see her smiling the whole time toasty warm on her bike. She didnât want to end the ride when we did. The interesting thing I find with the gloves is they never seem to change temperature in the fingers. Highway or town my fingers stay the same temperature. Itâs pretty wild. Not sorry we bought volt heated gear!
I bought these glove as a replacement for my winter regular gloves that were lost. Look at quite a few options both made in the USA and abroad. There are quite a few great options out there. For me these had the great reviews, the right options and a great price. Because of Covid I had not been able to use them until recently. My first use was across Kansas to Loveland, CO all day in 30 degree temps. I also have the heated jacket liner. I was totally pleased riding with the settings on medium, never really realizing how cold it was. Kept me very comfortable. Now I am in Jackson, Wyoming and have used the battery power on the gloves, walking around and riding in 8 degree temps. I am so glad I have the option of the batteries. The gloves and vest are extremely well made and I expect them to last many years. I had opportunity to need customer service and the support I recieved from Colby was beyond expectation...one of the best ever! I ordered a Large, which is what I wear, and they fit nice. As one other reviewer stated, the fingers are a little long, but that is better than too short. The jacket liner is amazing and both the gloves and the liner work great even without heat! I highly recommend Volt.
I ordered a size up, XL. The width is a nice fit, but the fingers are a little long for me so a L probably would have been fine. I'm keeping the XL because the and effectiveness of the heating elements are fine. The quality is too good to return. If anything I would order another pair L and let my GF with long nails wear the XL as a passenger. Since they have batteries! What a great feature. Another use for this feature is for the chilly days I do not want to wear my heated jacket liner which has the wiring harness in the sleeves. These gloves are better than others that require a controller to use when connected to the motorcycle. The controller is built into the gloves. Saves you some $. They are big and bulky, but they are functional and with optional 7v and 12v and built-in controller they have GREAT UTILITY. These gloves are a combination of leather and textile so I do not know if they will break in as well as the all leather pair I used for 5 years. Time will tell.. Customer Service handled all my questions about the gloves before my purchase and immediately worked out my issue with one glove after my purchase. I am a fan of Volt Heat. After buying these gloves I purchased their scarf to gift to a friend. I have been using heated gear for over 5 years and have learned to avoid companies that lack good customer communication no matter how good a deal they seem to be offering. Avoid those companies. You can count on Volt Heat. They are one of the best.
