STAYING WARM DURING HUNTING SEASON

STAYING WARM DURING HUNTING SEASON

September 01, 2023

Hunting is a great way to spend time with family, friends and other sportsman. Some of my best memories of growing up are hunting trips that I went on with my dad. We didn’t always come back successful, but it was time well spent together. Your typical hunting season as a rule will fall between September to December. In most parts of the USA, September and October hunts aren’t cold. You might get a few cold mornings here and there but that is about it. November and December are usually the other way around everywhere in USA. There can be a random warm day but for the most part you can plan on it being cold.

Hunting whitetail deer is happening all over the USA and it is more and more popular all the time. There is a saying that goes, “you can’t get a deer sitting on your couch”. This means the very first thing that you must do when trying to be a successful hunter is you must be in the field. Whether that is a flooded field in the Midwest, a hardwood thicket in Ohio or glassing on a windy ridge in Montana. The weather isn’t always going to cooperate either. Temperatures can be below zero, wind can blow extremely hard, and rain and snow are a definite possibility.

Staying comfortable while you are hunting is a big part of staying out when the weather isn’t favorable. That is where Volt Heated Clothing can help. We have many different products that are heated with a rechargeable battery. This article will talk about the 4 most popular items for hunters. The products we are going to highlight are the Torso Vest Liner, Camo Gloves, Heated Seat Cushion/Lap Shawl and our Heated Socks.

The Torso Heated Vest Liner is a very simple product that packs a big punch. It is powered by a rechargeable 7V battery and heats both sides of the chest and down the back. The best part of the Torso for hunters is the fabric and cut. It is a thin nylon vest which really helps minimize that bulky layering feeling. The cut is very generous and can almost be described as a quasi-tuxedo cut where the arm and neck holes are larger than typical athletic cut vests. With these fit a layering characteristics it is very accommodating to use the Torso Heated Vest Liner with all of the same hunting clothes you already wear.

The Mossy Oak Country pattern camo heated gloves can help extend your hunting day by keeping your fingertips nice a warm. The gloves are heated using a 7V rechargeable battery. With 4 different power settings your runtimes can range from 2-8 hours depending on the level you are using. The gloves heat both sides of the hand our to the fingertips and we also have heat coverage in the thumb. The outer shell is a super quiet poly fleece material that is concealed with the Country pattern. The inner shell does have a waterproof liner, so you are covered even if it starts to rain.

The Heated Seat Cushion and Heated Lap Shawl are both easy to use in the field. The seat cushion goes well in either a ground blind or tree stand. The Shawl can be placed over your thighs to keep you warm, or you can put it down and sit on it like a cushion. Both items provide hours of core warming heat and are very easy to operate. These two items are heated using a 5V rechargeable USB battery.

Our Heated Sock is a game changer for hunters. The heat runs from the tip of your toes back to the beginning of the heel. With three different power settings, the 7V rechargeable battery can give you up to 14 hours of heat on the lowest setting and 7 hours of heat on the highest setting. The socks will come with a wireless remote, so you don’t have to dig into the top of your boot to change the power setting. Of all the products we make for hunters, the heated sock is the most widely used. It fits easy and is so simple to turn on/off. The one thing that drives people out of the woods when hunting starts getting good is cold toes and feet. This is the solution for that problem and can help you hunt longer and more comfortable.
